Four-time Premier League winners Manchester City are in the market for a new striker ahead of the new season. This is according to the latest report in the British media. The Citizens are in search of a replacement for star striker Sergio Aguero who has been injured for the better part of this year.
Manchester City have a lot of work to do to sign any of the two strikers with the Spanish heavyweight duo of Real Madrid and Barcelona interested in both players. Barcelona are long-term admirers of LautaroMartinez,and the Inter Milan attacker could have signed for the Nou Camp giants this summer if they were able to pay his the €100m release clause in his Inter Milan contract.
Real Madrid are keen on signing ErlingHaaland from Borussia Dortmund, but they will have to wait till next summer. Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund are likely to go head-to-head for the Norwegian international striker. It has been reported that Haaland has a €75m release clause which becomes active next summer.
Manchester City striker Sergio Aguerohas been a wonderful servant for the Citizens in the last decade. He signed for the Citizens in 2011 having joined from Atletico Madrid. His greatest moment in a Manchester City shirt came at the end of the 2011/12 when he scored the goal that won a first Premier League title for his club. Aguero scored the winning goal as Manchester City beat Queens Parks Rangers 3-2 at home to secure their maiden Premier League title.
