Former Manchester United boss, Sir Alex Ferguson has risen in support of former Barcelona coach, Pep Guardiola. He says the current head coach of Bayern munich FC will be a success though he won’t have it easy.
The widely celebrated coach won 14 major titles while at the helm in Spain. The titles were in 4 seasons at camp Nou. The talented coach will take over at Manchester city at the end of the season. He is to replace Chilean, Manuel Pellegrini at the Etihad Stadium.
Ferguson says the swoop of Guardiola by city is a coup. He hailed the work ethic and pattern of play of Guardiola.
Speaking to Sky Sports, he admitted that the spainiard wouldn’t have it easy in the English Premier League. Ferguson said: “Without question Pep has got a fantastic work ethic about him, he demands that from all of his training sessions. Anyone who thinks they’re not going to work hard at City won’t last long. He [Guardiola] has got great coaching ability; there is no doubt about that.”
He added that he doesn’t think Guardiola could replicate his impressive titles’ run on England. “Man City has made a real coup in getting him but Pep won’t find it easy, English football is not easy.Every foreign coach that has come to England will tell you that. Arsene Wenger was talking about that a few months after coming and even Jose Mourinho was,” Sir Alex said.
He opines that the standard set for the coach might be too high. “Pep will be a success but I don’t think he’ll ever replicate what he did at Barcelona because that was a high standard – they were the best.” Continue reading FERGUSON SAYS GUARDIOLA WILL SUCCEED AT MANCHESTER CITY
